The Telomere Connection

Over fifteen years ago, Nobel-prizewinning work on telomeric DNA launched a groundswell of scientific research on the role of telomeres in aging. Today, we know telomere length is associated with improved health and longer life. These specialized ends of our chromosomes, and the enzyme telomerase that maintains them, protect our stored DNA to maintain cellular health.

Telomeres form a protective cap at both ends of our chromosomes, much like the plastic caps at the ends of shoelaces. Each time a cell divides, a portion of the telomere is lost, but the DNA remains intact. When the telomere shortens to a critical length, the cell stops dividing and ages or dies.

Unhealthy lifestyle, poor diet, stress, smoking and toxins can cause telomeres to shorten prematurely. It’s now believed that this may be an underlying cause of the decline that we typically associate with “normal” aging.

Vitamere™ Anti-Aging Multivitamin is formulated to work at the cellular level, protecting and revitalizing telomeres to keep cells functioning and dividing normally.
